At 6 months old, Austin was diagnosed with Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC), a rare neurological disorder that causes temporary paralysis to one or both sides of the body.
The cause is unknown and there is no known cure for the disorder. Austin's attacks vary from a single limb paralysis to full body paralysis.
